Beforewesiderienifyingshadthemisfortuofallintoablackhole,itisimportaheeffeobserver'sparticularperspeeofreferehismeansthatdifferentobserversseeverydifferentthilyerspectiveisofallingintoablackholedependsonhowfarawayyouarefromthatobjedeedwhetheryouarethatobjesideraparticleoflight,aphoton,thatisoutsidetheeventhorizonofablackhole:siisoutsidethehorizon,itprincipleessidetheeventhorizonitwouldbeadifferentstory-thephotonotescapethegravitatioheblackhole.Buteveheeventhorizon,aphotonthatistravellingawayfromtheblackholewillelyuhephotonsuffersalossiotheworkithastodoagainstgravity.Thisisanexampleofagravitatioialwell;justasenergywouldbeohaulyourselfupwardsoutofadeepwell,sothephotooexpeopullitselfawayfrionnearamassiveobject.Theeffecthasevenbeenmeasuredforphotonsmovih'sgravity.Theenergyofaphotonisiedtoitswavelength:ahigh-eonhasashortwavelengthwhereasalyphotonhasalohephotonlyasitretreatsawayfromtheblackhole,soitswavelehisgesthecolourofthelight,movingfromtheblue(shortwavelength)towardsthered(loh)erum(thiseffectiscalledredshift).Thissortofredshift,knownasgravitatio,ariseswherespacetimeitselfstretchesout,orisplebytheeffeassivebodysuchasablaotethatJohnMichell,despitehavingsignifitinalthoughtsaboutdarkstars,wasihinkingthatthevelocityoflightdecreasesasitclimbsoutofthepotentialknowthatitisthewavelength(hency)oflightthatisaffectedbythepresenassivestar.

Someswouldbepossiblehowever,muchclosertotheblack-holeSunthanwerepossiblepreviouslywhenthesolarplasmawasintheway.However,theseorbitsotgettooclosetotheeventhorizoailsofspacetimebyamasssingularitymeanthatitisnotpossibletoorbitjustoutsidetheeventhorizoemptingacircularorbittherewouldrequirecorrectiveabyroai.Infact,themathematicsshowsthattheclosestthatweoranyothermassparticlecouldexistonastablecircularorbitionaryblackholewouldbeatadistahatoftheSchwarzschildradiusaway.Youhavebeen>
